When I Didn’t Expect It, Silence Gave Me The Answer
Today’s world is so noisy that people can hardly hear themselves anymore. We seek companionship, we avoid seclusion… All in all, you’re running away from something very important: silence.
Many people are afraid of the absence of sound, especially the sound they are used to. It could be the sounds of cars, a fire truck, people talking, and so on.
When we are alone in nature we can get nervous. Any strange noise can startle us. The explanation of this behavior is the desire to escape the inner silence that haunts us.
Why do we run from silence?
People run from silence to escape the problems that haunt them every day. You don’t want to constantly think about it and deal with it. Ideally you want to experience the pain as little as possible.
However, it is in this silence that you can find the answers. Even when you think you’ve lost everything and your life has no meaning, you can still find answers in the silence.
Someone who is trapped or unable to end a relationship cannot escape that storm of discontent. This is often because they are afraid to listen to the underlying silence.
It’s always easier to keep believing in that self-deception. Most people know this too. V erstop you between the sound you inconvenience caused but keep feeding the meantime.
You become a victim as soon as you realize what’s wrong with this. You choose to hide rather than muster all your courage to put an end to what is hurting you so much.
It’s hard to show courage and seek the answers in that terrifying silence. It is difficult to remain silent and observe the world and what is happening without judgment or criticism.
The answer is inside
When life turns against you, when you think you’re out of luck, you have to look inside yourself.
The natural step to take is to talk about your problems with a friend or family member. Let them try to find the answer with you. However, the ultimate responsibility for this rests on your shoulders.
If you’ve ever sought professional help, you already know this. A psychologist won’t judge you or give you the solution. They will take you by the hand and guide you so that you can discover how to find the answers you are looking for.
Sometimes you doubt yourself and that’s why you mainly focus on external factors. However, this is rarely the right solution because the answer to everything lies within you.
You might think you can’t do it, that you’re weak, or that you don’t know how to get your life back on track. All this indicates the obvious absence of self-understanding.
There is a little voice inside you that tells you where to go. You just have to listen to it, and for that silence will be your best ally.
Dive into yourself
If you look deep within yourself, it can sometimes be terrible because there you can still feel the suffering of that wounded child you used to be.
At other times, it could mean discovering parts of yourself that you deny or have rejected. In this case, it is important to keep your mind open and accept that you are allowed to make mistakes.
Have you ever taken a quiet walk in nature, or need music to listen to? That alone can tell you whether you are afraid of the absence of sound or not.
Don’t be afraid to face your problems directly. That doesn’t mean you won’t feel pain anymore, but you also feel like you’re fleeing from all the problems that will eventually catch up with you.
It’s time to stop using those malicious tactics. This will not solve anything and can actually only make the problem worse.
In the silence you will find yourself and make friends. You will learn what to do without fear, expectations, or other insecurities.
Now it’s time to stop making excuses and get to work! Continuing in the same way will not change anything.
If you feel lost when your whole world seems to be collapsing, reconnect with yourself in silence. In it you will find the solutions to what is happening to you.
