Joe Landolina was a student at New York University when he discovered something that could potentially save thousands of lives worldwide. Landolina created the wonderful Vetigel™. This is a gel that can stop internal and external bleeding within 10 seconds, without the need to apply pressure.

Vetigel started as a project when Joe was just starting his first semester of college. This idea won second prize in a competition within New York University , so Landolina and Isaac Miller (his partner) received enough money to fund their company (Cresilon, Inc.).

Joe Landolina now has a master’s degree in biomedical engineering and a company that employs 30 people. All of this is to get the project off the ground, as it could be a very important means of saving lives in emergency rooms worldwide.

The gel can already be used in veterinary practices, but is currently being tested and further developed for human use. This product will eventually be marketed under the name Traumagel™.

What is this gel made of?

The gel consists of something that has a plant origin and is called extracellular matrix (ECM). It is a net of proteins and sugars that can be found in cells, which can be different per organ.

The gel is broken into small pieces like Lego bricks and when applied to the wound it can restore the existing ECM patterns. It can also be very beneficial when applied to the skin and different parts of the body.

Vetigel ‘will make an exact copy of where it is off’. In other words, it will adapt directly to the properties of that part of the body on which it is used. In addition, according to Landolina, the body will begin the healing process depending on how it is applied.

When can we stop bleeding ourselves with Vetigel?

Vetigel is already approved for use by veterinarians, who notice its effectiveness in stopping bleeding in seconds. Now the product is pending FDA approval in the US. They give the final approval before it comes on the market for human use.

Landolina indicates that he is optimistic. He expects Traumagel to be approved by the end of this year at the latest. This product will become a lifesaver in the emergency room worldwide.

In addition to the above-mentioned gel that can stop bleeding, there are also natural alternatives that you can use to treat bleeding at home. One of these and possibly the most effective is red pepper or cayenne pepper.

This product has enormous health benefits and the native inhabitants of North America have used it as a medicine since ancient times.
