Natural yogurt is one of the things your gut flora really loves. The smooth, fresh texture that also tastes great provides your body with all kinds of vitamins, minerals and nutrients.

That’s what they say: if you want things to be done the right way, you have to do it yourself. Do you want homemade, cheap and easy to make yogurt? Then now is the time to make it yourself!
Yogurt is basically nothing but fermented milk. This means that it is made of millions of bacteria that have converted into lactic acid.
If you make it yourself at home, you control what you put in it. We are mainly talking about sugar and preservatives. The whole idea is that you make yogurt that is good for you and you don’t have to worry about consuming preservatives.
The commercial products are full of artificial colors and flavors. Their only function is to lure us into buying them. But how real are they?
There is nothing more fun than mixing this creamy product with fresh fruit and watching the colors mingle.
Do not worry! Even if you are not really a chef in the kitchen, everything will be fine. Because we have an incredibly simple recipe for you.
It consists of three easy steps: toss it in, mix it and wait. It actually makes itself!
- 2 liters of whole milk
- 1/2 cup natural yogurt without sugar (100 g)
- 1 tablespoon of sugar (10 g)
- Pour the milk into a bowl and heat it up. You should not let the milk boil because then the taste of the yogurt will change. Keep it at about 95° for ten minutes to allow the milk to pasteurize.
- Just before it starts to boil, take the pan off the heat. Now let it cool. Use a thermometer to check if it is about 38°C warm. If you don’t have a thermometer, dip your little finger into the milk. If you can keep your finger in the warm milk for twenty seconds without getting burned, then you’re in the right place!
- Now add the sugar and stir.
- Then add the yogurt. Beat it well until everything is completely mixed.
- Now pour it into a mold and cover it with aluminum foil. Then wrap everything in a kitchen towel.
- Leave the mold for four hours to ferment.
- Then you can remove the towel and the foil. Drain the liquid and whisk it with a spoon.
- Finally, you can pour it into a jar with a lid. Now let it sit overnight in the fridge.
- When you get up, your yogurt will be ready!
Note the following:
- The yogurt and milk must be fresh.
- Make sure the milk is not cold when you add the yogurt. Because bacteria need heat. On the other hand, it should not be too hot, that kills the bacteria.
- After you’ve put the foil over the yogurt, don’t disturb the process.
