It’s just a matter of letting your imagination run wild. Imagine what you can achieve with the reuse of car tires. Put your mind to the test. Find a creative way and learn to reuse car tires!
Five different ways to reuse car tires
1. A coffee table
This is a practical idea that is extremely easy to implement. You can reuse car tires as a base for a table. Cover it with a piece of wood to support the table surface. Then you decorate the band.
Some people decorate the belt with a cloth or synthetic fabric to match their furniture. Others opt for a more rustic view. They use braid that they wrap around the tires.
- If you want to use a cloth or synthetic leather, measure the car tire. Then cut a circle out of the material of your choice.
- Attach the circle to another rectangular piece of the same material. Make sure it is wide enough to cover the entire surface of the tire.
- Do the same with the lining for the inside.
Do you want to take a more practical approach and ensure that you can wash it easily? Then you can fasten a zipper or a few buttons where the inner lining and the edge of the rectangle meet.
If you choose to use wickerwork, you must ensure that you have enough material. Because you have to be able to cover the entire tire but also the wooden top part that you have placed on it.
By following these simple guidelines you can make a beautiful and convenient coffee table.
2. A swing for the kids
Maybe you live in a house with a spacious yard (and a tall tree). Then you can design the classic swing we’ve seen so many times in movies. This is a very simple idea. Your kids will love it.
- This is all you need to do. Clean the belt thoroughly. Then paint the band and brighten it up.
- Then hang the band on a strong branch. Use some bungee cords or rope for this.
And finished! You made your own swing!
3. Re-use car tires to make flower pots
This is yet another way to reuse car tires. Because we can use them in our own garden.
How are we going to do this?
It is easy. All you have to do is turn them into flower pots.
For example, if you want to plant a tree, you have to make sure that the tree does not grow crooked. In addition, you don’t want the tree to fall over in the wind (or be dug out by your dog), or be knocked over by playing children. And those are just a few examples of potential threats.
- Plant your tree and place it in some used tires.
- That way you can protect the tree. You can also water it from above through the holes in the tire.
We would like to mention one more advantage. When you turn the car tires into flower pots, their sturdiness will help the plants withstand the pressure of the soil. In addition, the roots of the plant will remain in the band.
There are several ways you can make this change. You can immediately place the car tires in your garden. Then all you have to do is paint them. The ground or the earth then acts as the base on the inside.
But you may want to reuse the car tires in a place with a different type of soil. You may also want to be able to move them. Then you will have to design a base for the tires. It prevents the earth from falling out.
You can also change the car tires by cutting them open in certain places. You can then put individual plants in it.
4. Containers for garden equipment or waste
To make this you need three car tires. Stack them together. Then sew them together with thread or other material so that they stay together.
- Then you cut a circle out of a piece of wood (which is the diameter of the tire). Attach it to the bottom of the straps with glue (this will be the base of the container).
- Then you can paint the tires with nice colors. When you are done with this, you can put a lid on top of the tires.
- And you’re done! Container finished!
You should keep this in mind if you decide to make a waste container. Before using the container, place a waste bag on the inside. This makes it easy to empty the container when it is full.
5. Stairs for steep slopes
This is a practical solution for people living in rural areas surrounded by hills. Because with this idea, going up and down the slope will be much easier.
- You just need to clear the place where you want to create the path. Then you can dig the steps into the hill.
- Place the car tires on each step. Fill them up with the same soil you removed to fit the tires.
- Because by filling them up, they will stay safely in place.
This staircase is also very resistant to weather changes.
Now you know why reusing car tires is a very good idea. Also try to recycle other items you no longer use. Because that way you win some important points in terms of saving, creativity and dexterity!
